A young Hungarian woman arrived in Melbourne in 1980 with nothing but her hands and her taste. By 1982 she had opened her own salon in Armadale — and set about turning it into something rarer. Rose Hill is what she built: a quietly grand retreat where European skin science is practised with the discretion of a private atelier.
Named for the rose — healing, femininity, grace — and for Budapest’s Rózsadomb, the city’s most gracious hill. Four decades on, the same family keeps the doors, and the standard.

Among the first in Australia to bring the light
Our founder was among the first women in the country to bring light therapy and advanced European skin science to a salon floor — the very technologies a Hungarian scientist first uncovered in a Budapest laboratory. She chose Skeyndor, the Barcelona house founded in 1966 on cellular science, and we have carried it ever since.
